Now does 0-60 in under 8 seconds. I think it's time to reassess and add it to my list of possible next cars.

Is that with or without the HFP Super Charger?
Without, keep waiting.

What was the 0-60 originally? Is this manual or auto? What did they change? Ive got to say- I love the look of the CRZ- but the Civic SI is still 1.5 or 2 seconds quicker to 60 and better handling + limited slip+backseat
The CRZ is... more efficient and available with an auto- if you are into those kind of things. It is a hatch which is neat- but the cargo space is equivalent to the SI trunk.

that only makes it competitive with a Civic Si

7.8 is with the manual. The 6MT was originally like 8.4. The CVT still lags 1-1.5 seconds behind.
This was done by improving the battery and motor.
When comparably equipped, it's around 3k cheaper than the Si. The hatch space is also much more usable because of the hatch, and much more ample with the shelf layed down.
And about 10mpg more economical.

Yeah. I would probably never do it. They're two different cars, and have very different goals.

Correct answer is always...wait for it...V6 MUSTANG! 0 to 60 in 5.1 seconds and the quarter mile in 13.7 at 102.0 mph. 30mpg hwy. With CAI and tune mine is even quicker and still gets 29mpg @ 70mph.

If CR-Z Type R, then HELL YES. Otherwise, I will still be waiting.

I think they are about the same price realistically at dealer lots. Using sites like truecar the CRZ may actually be about 1k more, not 3k less. Compare the Si non nave with the CRZ EX manual non nav.
I cant argue with the economy of the CRZ though. Using fuelly the CRZ really does get 10mpg better.

And much heavier, and probably handles nothing like the CR-Z. If I want a car like that, I'll get a Genesis lol.
Not hating, just sayin.

Did anyone love these when they came out? What I gathered from reviews is that it wasn't as good as it could of been because it was supposed to be sporty and fuel efficient. But in reality both suffered because of the other.
Just for arguments sake ….

Those stats were the estimated ones before the car came out. The stats of their long term Dart 1.4T has been 29mpg average, and an 7.9 0-60 I believe. Not exactly impressive (both of which have been bested by their long term Accord Sport)

Lol well just get a Accord, probably just as "sporty".

Nothing wrong with those, to each his own. I wasn't even in the market for a car but got a steal on it, just installed a set of Nitto 555's and have a Eibach suspension kit in the shed waiting on the weather to cooperate. Should handle well enough. Was just playing the V6 Mustang card as opposed to Miata always the answer. LOL
